APRA Music Award winners 2020

On Monday 25 May the APRA Music Awards went live at 7.00 pm. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing safety concerns, the ceremony was not held in the usual live format. The event was due to take place on Tuesday 28 April at the International Convention Centre in Sydney but, like many live events of its kind, it has been adapted to premiere online.

Watch the Virtual APRA Music Awards here until the 24 June 2020.

Award-winning singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke curated the event in her second year as the APRA Music Awards’ Music Director. For the 2020 virtual event, Kate selected performers who’ve put their spin on the APRA Song of the Year nominated songs. Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners. A full list of winners can be found herein.

“This is an unprecedented time in all our lives, it’s not easy to make any sort of decision right now about the near future. But everyone involved with the APRA Music Awards decided that going ahead with the awards was something we could and should do – albeit in a very different way, but one that brings the awards to music fans far and wide for the first time. It’s important to celebrate and acknowledge the success and artistry of our songwriters whose work enrichens our lives. They will be the ones who help us get through this time.”

Jenny Morris, Chair of the APRA Board
