Adelaide Fringe 2018

ADLFringe2018

It is amazing having such a vibrant culture at my doorstep! Adelaide is dubbed the Festival State and the UNESCO City of Music. Festivals such as the Fringe prove that this city is a melting pot of creative minds.

As well as the Fringe, Adelaide hosts Adelaide Festival, WOMAdelaide Music Festival, Cabaret Festival, Oz-Asia Festival, and a plethora of other artistic offerings throughout the year.

If you have never experienced the Fringe Festival done Adelaide style, then you are truly missing out. Check out Adelaide Fringe Festival and the hundreds of acts that embark on our humble city from all over the world during February and March every year.

This award-winning festival is the second largest Fringe Festival in the world, next to Edinburgh Fringe. It’s an open-access event where performers can curate and present their own artistic vision to audiences who are hungry for something new and different.

In 2018, I have set time aside on my schedule to be watch and review as many shows as possible. I want to support my fellow artists and be inspired by their work.

Over the next month, readers of The Serenade Files will be treated to around 30 Fringe reviews written by yours truly. Hopefully, you will discover new artists to support and attend their shows in future. It takes a lot of time, effort, courage, and dollars to produce and perform (and in some cases tour) a show for audiences.

There are many talented artists who do not have a platform to be heard over the noise. I want to help to filter that noise. I hope you enjoy reading this blog series about the Adelaide Fringe Artists of 2018.
